Just 10 minutes away from the town of Las Trancas the ski area provides easily accessible backcountry skiing with terrain for all abilities.

First time in the backcountry? No problem! You don’t even need to be an expert skier. If you can ski confidently off piste terrain, you’re ready for backcountry skiing! Our experienced local Guides can show you the fundamentals of backcountry skiing – equipment, safety, and uphill and downhill techniques.

If you are looking for the steeps or just mellow powder turns, our Guides can take you where the best terrain and snow is. Get the most of your time in the mountains.

Difficulty: Basic backcountry experience preferable; intermediate to advanced downhill ski ability and good fitness required
Duration: 6-8 hours
Meeting Time: Generally 8:30 am or early depending on the specific activity
Meting Location: Your lodging place or trailhead parking place

What you need

  • Alpine touring skis, climbing skins, boots and poles (rent available at Aguaventura Pro Shop in the town of Las Trancas, info@aguavanetura.com, +56 9 5013 0580)
  • Avalanche equipment: avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel (rent available at USD$25/day )
  • Lunch and water
  • A suitable backpack and outdoor ski clothing
